i guess these 16 medics that just came out are on a 30 day detail. They will then graduate with the fire class in the academy right now. They will then get their assignments. This is what my field chief told me.

well I've heard they may actually go thru the whole list . Thats because so many retirees and not enough manpower to fill those spots. Plus there needs to be more ambos . Most fire calls now are ems related

I've been on almost a yr and my # was 108 or something. If I'm not mistake there was about 550-580 names on the list. As more time passes less people take the job due to getting hired elsewhere. My GUESS and only GUESS is they will probably open the list in the next few months while exhausting the rest of the current list.

Well there approx650-750 applicants. They are at 357 right now til the next group to be processed which will be in the next month or so.

haha, I would say 2015 too for the fire test seeing as the last 3 tests were 06, 95, and 85. Any word on how many are left on the current medic list?

To Beemo just work as a medic somewhere and get some experience as an advanced provider until the list opens up again cuz it could be a while. You will be glad you used this time to fine tune your skills. I have seen hot shots come and go. I mean no disrespect to you and others in the same situation as yours. But you want to keep an ear out for FF side cuz you just might get on with that. Possible new FF list in '15?

Well I'll be thought she'd be retired by now. I had her when she was in her prime AKA stricter than she is now. Per a contact in Higher ups at CFD. The Medic list will get used up. After everybody that is eligble is processed and the list exhausted only than will they reopen the medic list. This is due to too much controversy on closing it on people in the hiring process .

beetle, Jan Dorey is indeed still teaching at christ, I just finished up with her in June. She's still strict as all else.

And from what I understand about the City hiring site, tiff, all that you have in (like myself) is a general application. We have to wait until they post a job opening for Paramedic and then we submit the application for that job. Also, the medic license doesn't do anything for the FF list, it just gives you a pay increase once you're actually on the job.

Okay, so i went to paramedic school @ Christ, passed the state exam, have my EMT-P license in hand. I went to city hall to fill out an intrest card, they said there is no card to fill out, just go to the city's website and register. I did that. Am I now on the "list". I've asked many FF/P on the job, even some "bigshots" and I can't get any definate answers. What's my next step? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. P.s. I took the 06 fire exam #13,xxx does me now having a license help that???
